Description

Millside Cottage is situated in a quiet location, close to the centre of the village and a short distance from the village shop. There are two allocated parking places at the front of the property. The cottage has full gas central heating, double glazing and is lovingly maintained with wonderful views of the fells. It is charming and well equipped offering very comfortable accommodation for any time of year.

The entrance porch opens into a spacious, well decorated, lounge with a beamed ceiling, a living flame gas fire which has a remote control, and a leather suite, along with Smart TV, Bluetooth + CD Hi-Fi.

From the lounge you enter the fully fitted kitchen diner with built in appliances, including oven, 5 ringed ceramic touch control hob, microwave, washer dryer, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso Magimix coffee machine with some complimentary pods. There is a dining area with table and four chairs with views out to the secluded garden.

From the kitchen there is a small sun room with comfortable wicker chairs and table, ideal for afternoon tea and reading. This leads to the well kept enclosed garden which is ideal for families and those sunny days in the Lake District. It has a paved area with table and chairs, many different flowering shrubs and views out towards the fells.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one bedroom with bespoke king size bed and one twin with two singles, both with built in wardrobes.

The large bathroom has both a bath and a shower cubicle, and a wash hand basin (the view of Barrow Fell from the bath after a day on the fells is definitely recommended). There is a separate WC next to the bathroom. One bath towel and one hand towel are provided per person.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Things we liked. Number one for me was my dog couldn't break out of the garden. So many properties say the garden is enclosed but when you get there the dog can easily get out. It was a lovely sun trap too. The property was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. The location is really handy for Keswick. There was a nice short walk we found from the doorstep. We didn't try the pub but the menu looked good. We will definitely be coming back. The only negative things to mention was that the shower control is the wrong way round and took us a day to work it out and the dishwasher filter hadn't been cleaned since Adam was a lad but I've found that's the same in most properties.

Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are so happy you enjoyed your time staying here and that you found it comfortable and clean with everything you needed. We hope your dog enjoyed his time in the garden. We're sorry about the issues with the dishwasher and shower control, we will pass this onto the owners. We hope you and your dog had a wonderful time exploring Keswick and we look forward to welcoming you again! Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Perfect stay, again
Our 6th visit to Millside Cottage, that has become a "home from home" for us in this lovely spot. So many walks from the door without the need to use the car. Bonus of private off road parking. Village shop 5 doors away, with good selection of provisions fresh bread, cakes, ice cream and cafe. Great to see it thriving. Coledale Inn just short of 200 yards away. Dog friendly. Good food, fantastic views from beer garden. Looking forward to returning next year.

Thank you so much for your review of Millside Cottage! We love that this was your 6th time staying here and that it has become a home from a home, we hope you enjoyed your all your walks too! We're so happy you had another fantastic time. We look forward to welcoming you next year! Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

We loved the house and all the homely comforts it has inside. The conservatory was an added bonus that we got to enjoy on even a wet and dreary day. The kitchen is really well equipped, location perfect right next to the shop and many of the beautiful walks of the Lakes, thank you!
Superb village location with parking, shop just a few steps away as are 2 excellent pubs, park up and walk. Views are breathtaking. Very cosy, warm and exceptionally clean. Lovely to have a living flame gas fire for that homely feel, very well eqipped throughout, lovely secluded dog safe garden. Beds and pillows are the comfiest ever, lots of storeage space which is a bonus. Only slight downside is that the shower pressure is not great but you just have to stay in the shower longer! Love the modern tablet that welcomes guests and gives lots of useful information including how to use every appliance in the cottage. Plenty of room for 2 adults and children with 1 king size bedroom and a twin, 4 adults would also have plenty of room.Benefits from a shower cubicle and a deep bath. Stairs are steep so not good for anyone with mobility difficulties. Perfect though in every way.
Very comfy cottage. Warm and clean. Everything you need. Bedroom a bit small for king size bed but very comfy mattresses. Nice little garden. Enclosed but had to be watchful for our GWP (hunter instinct!). Handy shop with little cafe. Lots of walks from door. Car parking in front of the door. Builder's vans opposite as renovation work going on but not a problem for our one car. Friendly pub nearby. Can't fault it.
