Byways is a traditional Lakeland end of terrace set in a quiet area within a 5 minute walk to the centre of Keswick. There is a very welcoming feel to this property and with the flexibility of Friday or Monday arrivals offers an ideal base even if only for a short break. Description

As you enter the cottage you walk directly into the spacious open plan lounge and dining area with wooden floors, dining table with four chairs, two leather sofas and the lovely gas burning stove which makes for a great feature in the lounge. This room gives a really inviting feel making it a real home from home.

The modern kitchen is very well equipped for the perfect self catering holiday with oven & hob, dishwasher, washer / dryer, fridge freezer and microwave.

Upstairs there are two pretty bedrooms. To the front of the cottage is the master bedroom with king size bed, and at the back of the cottage is the twin bedroom. Both rooms are well furnished and include luxury linen and towels.

The modern bathroom has a bath with shower over, hand basin and WC.

There is an enclosed patio with seating which makes a lovely place to relax on sunny days.

Unrestricted parking is on street directly in front of the cottage.

Lovely property

Peaceful cosy cottage.
I would pretty much reiterate what others have said. It's a nicely maintained, cosy cottage. It's very quiet as it's on one of the less frequented streets in Keswick. Well-equipped kitchen and very comfortable bed in the main bedroom. I chose to book with Keswick Cottages as they are a smaller independent business I believe, with good reviews and I found them friendly and quick to respond to queries. The cottage was ready on time and immaculate on arrival. David.

We had a very good stay in wonderful Keswick. Byways is in a very good location, convenient for the town and excursions. The property is well equipped and the downstairs is very well laid out. The family bathroom is ok, although the shower is erratic and the screen doesn’t prevent the floor getting wet. The bedrooms are basic but adequate. Finally, a couple of minor challenges; the stair gate is very cumbersome to use and accessing the house key was a bit problematic from the exterior box.

We have stayed at Byways several times so it really does feel like a home from home. This time we had a short break at the end of November so it was no surprise that it rained most of the time! However, we had come prepared with all our waterproof walking gear so enjoyed some good walks in fabulous scenery including Walla Crag, Buttermere and Whinlatter Forest. It was nice to have a cosy place to come back to. We also visited the Dog and Gun three times and enjoyed their goulash, as well as their lovely Loweswater Gold. Well, walking is thirsty work! Hope to visit Keswick again soon in better weather!
