Troutbeck is a charming hamlet with wonderful panoramic views of Blencathra and is also within easy reach of Helvellyn, Ullswater and Derwentwater. The area is a haven for walkers with adventurers tackling Striding Edge on Hellvelyn or experiencing the spectaculer views from Sharp Edge on Blencathra.

For rainy day fun don’t miss a visit to The Rheghed Discovery Centre. Situated in Britain’s largest grass covered building, the centre boasts a gallery, café, 2 cinema screens, shops and play areas.
For a pint of local ale or a traditional pub meal check out the Sportsmans Inn. With an elevated position, the pub’s beer garden has some pretty magnificent views of the surrounding fells. Alternatively check out the Troutbeck Inn and try the famous Mell Fell burger.
Troutbeck is served by the regular X4/X5 bus service with stops at Penrith, Threlkeld and Keswick
