Overview

Greta Howe is a superb first floor apartment in what was formerly the Keswick School Of Industrial Art that was opened in 1894 by Canon Rawnsley, one of the founders of the National Trust and which led the way in the Arts and Crafts movement. It was here that, for many years, beautiful and much sought after handmade silver and copper metalwork was created that has today become famous around the world. The spacious, split level, open plan lounge with kitchen and dining area is complemented by three welcoming bedrooms, smart shower room and a feature bathroom with roll-top freestanding bath.

A couple of step lead to the elevated, bespoke, fitted kitchen, that overlooks the living area with range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. To the side the large family dining table is set into the bay window, with views over the lower roof to the northern fells.

Choose from one of three welcoming bedrooms all with their own Smart TV. To the front is the spacious dual aspect master bedroom with superking bed and views to Skiddaw. A further double bedroom with king bed and a twin bedroom are situated further to the rear of the property. The bedrooms are complemented by a feature bathroom with an elegant rolltop bath where you can relax after a day on the fells and enjoy the view to the hills beyond, a large walk in shower cubicle, basing and WC. Off the landing is a smart shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC.

Great stay in Keswick
Comfy and cosy stay at Greta cottage. We visited during a cold November month and the cottage was perfect base for walks and then relaxing by the fire.

Thank you for your amazing 5* review! We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Greta Howe, it sounds like you made the most of the local area and hopefully the weather stayed dry for your walks! We'd love to host you again for another trip to the Lake District. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages.

Best ever
I have stayed at many Lakeland cottages over the years. This was the best. At 80 years old and living in Canada, I was thinking that this might be my last visit to the Lakes. Greta Howe has me thinking about another trip.

Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We love that Greta Howe is the best place you've stayed in! We are so happy you enjoyed another trip to the Lake District and we hope this won't be your last! We hope you had another wonderful time here! Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Our second stay in the wonderfully characteristic Greta Howe. Brilliantly located so close to the centre of town. Also left the weekend with a fiance!
Amazing space and location! Right across the river from the town center. Beautiful and lots of room
