Good but disappointed!!
We have stayed in Stanger cottage several times before and were disappointed to find it very poorly equipped with kitchen utensils than it was previously , making it much harder to cater than before ,the door locks had also been changed from our visit 18 months before and the back door was difficult to open ,when we arrived we rang Keswick cottages about it as we couldn't get in and were told just keep turning the key and it will open eventually, which would indicate that it was an on going problem, we again reported it after turning the key over 50 times and still being unable to get in ,and we're assured that a lock smith would sort it that day ,we arrived back to find the same problem ,not really good enough!!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay at Stanger Cottage. I'm so sorry that you experienced some trouble with one of the door locks. We carry out numerous property checks between bookings to minimise inconvenience to our guests. Unfortunately on occasion maintenance issues may occur while properties are occupied, however as a small local business we will always respond as soon as the issue is brought to our attention. On this occasion the maintenance team tested the back door lock several times with different keys and was operating fine on their departure. We did send an update on this at the time but sincerely apologise if you continued to have difficult with the secondary entrance and for any inconvenience caused to your holiday. The property is now on a Winter shutdown, so please be assured we have passed on your feedback to the owners who often use the opportunity to carry out maintenance. We of course hope that you and your family had a fantastic time staying in Braithwaite and exploring the beautiful Lake District. Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Disappointing
Disappointing compared to other cottages within the portfolio. Damp and cold, instructions on how to change heating would be advantageous. Cottage not as clean as it could be, lots of dog hair and vacum smelling. A few other points which has been highlighted and hopefully rectified for forthcoming guests. Great location for access to Whinlatter. A little more tlc and it would be excellent.

Thank you for your review of Stanger Cottage, we are sorry to hear that the property did not meet your expectations. It's very important to us that a high standard is maintained throughout our properties, so we will of course take your comments on board and bear your feedback in mind for future bookings. We really hope that you will book another Lakeland break with us, we are always on hand and happy to help arrange your future stay. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

A great stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Great location to the fells . We would stay again .

Thank you for your review, it’s great to hear that you would visit again! Being so close to Whinlatter, Causey Pike and the Coledale Horseshoe, Stanger Cottage is the perfect base for a walking holiday. We hope that you also managed to utilise the brilliant bus service to explore the further reaches of the Lakes as well. We look forward to hosting you again for your next holiday. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages.

Lovely cottage, exactly what we expected
Really felt like a home away from home. Beautiful cottage with everything you need. Opposite the pub which was a bonus and amazing location for local hikes - Cat Bells, Raven Cragg etc. hosts were very responsive and quick with any questions we had, we had an issue with the lock in the back door and they came straight away. We were a couple and a dog and we had plenty of space, the welcome package was a nice touch too. Would absolutely stay again in this cottage or another Keswick cottage if we chose a different location.
Beautiful cottage in the heart of Braithwaite. We wanted to be central so that we could catch up with family, and this cottage was perfect being a stones throw from the pub :-) We had welcome packs for cleaning (bin bag, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid etc) and essentials such as milk, sugar, tea, coffee, biscuits etc which are so welcome when you first put your bags down. The house had everything we needed for our stay and more, communication was perfect with the hosts too - I would 100% recommend this cottage.
