Perfect cosy cottage in quiet village with walks from the door.
Tawny cottage in the quiet village of Portinscale was a perfect retreat. Warm, cosy and very comfortable with everything we needed for a relaxing break. Lovely walks from the door to Cat Bells and around Derwent water and also several lovely walks from Braithwaite were easily accessed without a trip in the car. Keswick is not far with its market and great independent shops. There is a fabulous cheese shop. Portinscale has a pub just around the corner and a cafe further down the lane. We would definitely return to this excellent holiday cottage. Thank you very much, we loved the Christmas welcome.

This is a great cottage, with a really cozy and homely feel. I was really impressed with the furniture and finishes, which are quality and of a high standard. There isn't much in the village where it is located, but you are only 5 minutes walk from the lake, and 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive from the centre of Keswick. Lovely fell view from the kitchen window or back patio/garden. Very quiet, relaxed and chilled, just what we were looking for.
We like the garden which has the benefit of the view of beautiful plant, especially the red acer at the fence. The hot water bath with ample water pressure. The kitchen is so well equipped enable us to cook some decent dinners for three. Bedrooms are well sound proof and we could have sound sleep and good rest after the daytime activities.
A great cottage, nicely furnished with comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. It was well heated, making it very cozy to come back to, after day long hikes in the rain and definitely helped in drying clothes. Very nice welcome packages with tea/coffee and cleaning products.
