Description

The Ridgeway is a beautiful Victorian property, with many personal touches to create a ’home from home’ feel and ideal for those wishing to be close to all local amenities but just out of the way of traffic and crowds.

The fully enclosed south facing patio has wonderful views to the fells for perfect al fresco dining. Private parking is allocated opposite for one car.

The large, bright lounge with high ceilings on the first floor has a fabulous bay window looking out over Keswick to Catbells and the fells beyond. There are two large sofas and an open fire for cosy winter nights, with dining table in the picture postcard bay window. There is a Smart TV, DVD player, and plenty of Lakeland guides, books and games.

The twin bedroom with solid oak furniture (chest of drawers, wardrobe and bedside tables) is also on the first floor with lovely views towards Latrigg. This room can be converted to a King-size bed upon request.

The first floor bathroom is fully tiled and has a double ended bath, separate shower cubicle, towel rail and wash hand basin. There is a separate WC on this floor.

On the ground floor there is a bright king bedroom with a leather chair positioned in the bay window overlooking the patio/garden. There is a new Euro King Size bed with quality mattress, plenty of storage, a flat screen TV/DVD, dressing table and lovely high ceilings. Both bedrooms are dressed with luxury linens and fresh white fluffy towels.

The very modern kitchen is also on the ground floor with fitted units, granite worktops, built in electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine, DAB radio and breakfast bar, with well stocked cupboards with everything you would need on a self-catering holiday.

There is a sizeable utility room at the back of the apartment for walking gear and bikes, with a tumble dryer and providing a useful back door with rear access to the street.

The downstairs shower room has a shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Keswick offers plenty of options to keep you occupied during your stay. For walkers the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trial which starts next to the Keswick Leisure centre is a 5 kilometre (10 kilometre there and back) walk along what was once a railway track. It offers beautiful views and is a multi-user trial suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. If you fancy something with a little more elevation and spectacular views, Latrigg and Walla Crag can be reached from your doorstep, and you can even tick off some Wainwrights! 10 minutes out of Keswick is Whinlatter forest, which offers a huge selection of walks and outdoor activities.

Keswick itself offers lots of amenities, from shops to cafés, pubs to theatres, you will be spoilt for choice.

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was comfortable and clean, with lovely views from the lounge window. Good to have lots of books and games provided. And we made use of the front patio on a few occasions. The parking space is a bonus. We thought it was in an excellent location in the town, a quiet no through round but the benefit of being staggering distance to all the pubs, restaurants and shops. We would definitely book again!

Thank you so much for your lovely review of The Ridgeway, we are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and made the most of the property! The Ridgeway boasts stunning views of the surrounding fells, the living room being the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea and a good book with a view! The location is ideal also being on a quiet street but withing walking distance to all Keswick has to offer! We look forward to welcoming you back in the future! Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Ridgeway
Excellent service from Keswick Cottages. Very quick with responses asking for a last minute break next day. House was all ready for us and glad I requested loggs for the open fire which was fantastic to have . Didn't mind staying in sitting at the cosy fire when it rained. Lovely views. Kitchen well equipped. Location very close to town. Only criticism would be fluffier pillows in the main bedroom and I felt the sofa wasn't very comfortable for me.

Thank you for your wonderful review of The Ridgeway. We are delighted that you had a good last minute break to Keswick and enjoyed sitting by the fire looking out at those incredible views. We will pass on your feedback to the owner regarding the sofa and the pillows in the main room, guest insight is much appreciated so thank you for passing this on. We'd love to have you back for another holiday and hope to speak with you again soon. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages Update to response - following your helpful review, the owner has supplied new pillows for the downstairs bedroom. Many thanks. Keswick Cottages

We had a wonderful stay at Ridgeway. It is a very roomy property (we were 4) & was extremely well equipped. The parking right outside the front was convenient. The real fire was a lovely treat for the winter evenings. Also the property was nice & warm with very reliable hot water. It is also centrally located to visit the beautiful Keswick & surrounding fells. Very much recommended!
We come to the Lake District twice a year and this was our first time at Ridgeway. Excellent value for money, quiet location, 5 minute walk into town, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and simple, easy to follow instructions for everything. Will definitely be back and we as a family of 4 highly recommend it!
Fabulous position, spotlessly clean property, amazing views from the lounge over to Catbells and Causey Pike Spent the week going out walking, and plenty of apres walk drinks at local pubs. Fab meal at The Pheasant, lamb Henry was particularly good. Didn’t need to get in the car at all!
